Benchmark indices extended the opening losses and trading at day’s low with Nifty around 17000.

The Sensex was down 317.57 points or 0.55% at 57044.63, and the Nifty was down 84.90 points or 0.49% at 17068.10. About 1018 shares have advanced, 1942 shares declined, and 140 shares are unchanged.
